Welcome to Slaithwaite Explorer Scouts!

Explorers is for young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years.

Here at 33rd Slaithwaite we have an active Explorer Section which currently has 21 members, both boys and girls. We take part in a wide range of varied activities. These have included scuba diving, horse riding, climbing and canoeing.

As an Explorer Scout, you also get the chance to work towards The Duke of Edinburgh Award which is a well respected achievement culminating in a trip to St James’s Palace for those who reach Gold. Since 2015, Slaithwaite Explorers have earned 140 Duke of Edinburgh awards 67 Bronze, 48 Silver and 25 Gold. 16 Explorers have also earned their Queen's Scout Award - the very highest award that can be earned through the Scouting programme.

We meet on Thursdays at 7.15pm -8.45pm at Slaithwaite Community Centre.
