Welcome to Slaithwaite Scouts

Here at 33rd Slaithwaite Scout Group we currently have over 100 members who take part in fun, challenging and adventurous activities every week!

As part of the UK Scout Association the group provides many opportunities for young people. The Scout Association has been providing a service to young people in our communities for over 100 years, and today provides activities and personal development opportunities for 500,000 young people aged 4-25 in the UK in a co-educational setting. We therefore encourage and welcome the membership of both boys and girls.

Internationally Scouts has a membership of over 28 million young people enjoying the benefits of Scouting across 216 countries. Personal development means promoting the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of the Scouting individual, helping them achieve their full potential.

In Scouting we believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing' when they take acceptable risks and think for themselves.
